Raising young people’s consciousness about violence with the board game “Les Choix de Raphaëlle”

This project has as base idea that the game has the potential to stimulate critical thinking development for people experiencing oppression and ease communautary processes aiming for a social change.

It aims to understand what ludic, narrative or aesthetics processes and which conditions favor this potential. Within the context of a field study on a group of young girls affiliated to the organism “Les Scientifines”, the objective is to study how the board game Les Choix de Raphaëlle can be used as an awareness space toward violence, not only during a play session, but also during an activity of game creation.

They will be asked to play the game in a laboratory, create new situation cards and then answer some questions in a discussion group.
